Dil ko behlane ko Ghalib ye khayal achha hai........

(A friend suggested that "At the Crossroad... " seems incomplete without an end...even a hypothetical one would do...so here I have tried to complete the story..purely fictional.)
He saw her in midst of the chaos looking quite lost in herself. He felt he should go up to her and meet..." Are u coming with me or not?"...his friend asked while getting into the Cab she had just convinced to take them to their destination. "You go ahead, I'll call u later."..."Just remembered  I have to pick up something"..he explained to his amused friend. "Okie" she replied "Chalo Boss" she referred to the taxiwala.
He turned to find her standing at the same spot. "What if she doesn't recognise me? After all, it's been years since we met" He at once regretted his decision of  not taking the taxi. He had just reached behind her..tapping her shoulder...he stood in front of her. She looked back and then realised someone was standing right in front of her. " Hi, Remember Me? "....She narrowed her eyes trying to revive this known face from her memory. "Of course ! How can I forget? How have u been?"..she smiled, finally placing this long lost mate.
"I'm Good" he sounded pleased. "What are u doing here?"...." Er...well...Just looking around ...contemplating". She again seemed lost. He found it amusing and smiled. "So how ab't some Coffee?" he said pointing at the coffee house to the right. She just now noticed the restaurant, and could smell the delicious aroma that wafted thru the revolving door as people keep rushing in and out. It's been long since she had her favourite South Indian Coffee. And suddenly she felt hungry too. She nodded,     " As long as I pay my share"...He again was surprised and offended but said "Sure".
As soon as they found a place to sit. She looked around, it was a modern cafe with light music playing thru the invisible speakers. The menu on the table showed mostly snacks and drinks that they served. The crowd was predominantly youngsters, poking fun at each other oblivious of their surrounding, totally carefree. She Smiled, It was a pleasant place. He on the other hand was observing only her, and when she noticed that, both got conscious. He took the menu, "So what will u have? I guess, it's self service" She peeped into her sheet and replied "Filter coffee and some sandwiches".
"I'll just come" She watched him ,as he walked up to the counter to place his order. There were a few more ppl in front of him. It would take some time, she thought to herself...what a pleasant surprise meeting him here. The song caught her attention     " Kahin toh hongi woh....duniya jaha tu mere saath hai...."..she started humming it. Music always soothed her senses.  She never realised that  he  had returned. And then onwards, Time just Flew as if it had Wings of it's own. They talked and laughed ,sharing their lives little anecdotes. Both felt at ease with each other, a pleasant camaraderie which you feel only a few times in your lifetime. The Universe Smiled.
She looked at the watch with surprise. He realised it's too late, " Shall I drop u?".     " Well...err..I plan to spend some time at the crossroad itself"...the confusion on her face had returned. He Smiled, " Let's go for a walk then". As they came out, she realised the crossroad didn't looked that chaotic as before, the setting Sun gave it a hue of a blushing bride and it was all serene and beautiful. She felt peaceful and suddenly at home. " Chalo Kaha Chale" he asked breaking  into her thoughts..." Jahaan tum le chalo"....then rolled her eyes and said " I know, too Cheesy". They both burst out laughing. He held her hand, which seemed to be the most natural thing to do and they walked ahead towards the mesmerising horizon.

Halfway thru the path, she looked back to check which road had they chosen...she couldn't figure out. She was always bad with directions ,she shrugged...  "It didn't matter anymore !! "
